Assistant Food & Beverage Manager at Omni Hotels & Resorts
Join our team at a 605‑room convention center hotel in downtown Oklahoma City. The luxury property is adjacent to the Paycom Center, Oklahoma Convention Center, and across the street from Scissortail Park.
Amenities include Seltzer’s Modern Diner, OKC Tap House, Bob’s Steak & Chop House, Park Grounds coffee shop, Rare Bird Gift Shop, Mokara Spa, fitness center, rooftop pool and bar (Cat Bird Seat), and 76,000 sq ft of event space, including two ballrooms and a 4,200 sq ft outdoor pre‑function area.
Responsibilities- Responsible for assigned shift and assisting in overall management.
- Supervise and coordinate outlet floor operations, including employees and guests.
- Maintain dining room cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance.
- Conduct daily pre‑meal meetings with service staff.
- Monitor guest experience, timing, food quality, and presentation.
- Track guest satisfaction and address comments and complaints.
- Assist outlet managers with food and liquor requisitions, waste monitoring, and ordering.
- Maintain floor presence during peak hours and ensure Omni standards across tabletops, side‑stations, and tray stands.
- Assist with scheduling, payroll, budgeting, forecasting, beverage and food cost control, and month‑end inventory.
- Participate in recruitment and training of newly hired employees.
- Ensure all equipment is in good condition, prepare maintenance requests, and follow up.
- Monitor bar controls, jigger use, and responsible alcohol service.
- Adhere to liquor liability laws and emergency procedures.
- Work well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment and be available for a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- At least 2 years of management experience in food and beverage, preferably in a hotel or fine dining restaurant, or completion of the Omni Food & Beverage LID Program.
- Proven leadership skills and ability to train, develop, and motivate staff.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Experience managing schedules, inventory, payroll, service recovery, and associate relations.
- Proficient with necessary software and programs.
- Ability to multitask and manage high‑volume orders.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to follow up on guest issues in a fast‑paced setting.
- Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance.
- Stand or walk for extended periods throughout the work shift.
- Work may involve both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Desktop computer, printer, telephone, copier, fax machine, push‑to‑talk radio dispatch, and related software (Opera, ALICE Synergy, Microsoft Office, Kronos, Birchstreet, Micros terminals, Open Table).
