About Our Client: Addison Group is partnering with a healthcare organization seeking an experienced Medical Collections Specialist to support complex Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care collections. This role is ideal for a seasoned collections professional who values stability, tenure, and working behind the scenes in a focused back-office environment.
Job DescriptionThe Medical Collections Specialist will manage high-level insurance follow-up with a strong focus on Medicare and Medicaid accounts. This position requires deep collections experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. Candidates with long-term tenure and experience in skilled nursing or long-term care environments will excel in this role.
Key Responsibilities- Perform insurance collections with a primary focus on Medicare and Medicaid accounts.
- Follow up on managed care and private insurance claims as needed.
- Manage large volumes of Medicaid-pending accounts and ensure timely processing to prevent write-offs.
- Assist patients/residents with Medicaid application processes from start to approval.
- Complete verifications, request records, and submit required documentation promptly.
- Track claim status, identify issues, and resolve barriers to payment.
- Support multiple facilities and collaborate with assigned collectors at each location.
- Assist with additional collections and revenue cycle tasks as needed.
- 3-5+ years of medical collections experience required.
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, or Managed Care collections required (all three a plus).
- Background in facility billing (UB-04) required.
- Strong tenure and commitment to long-term roles required.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm (flexible hours available)
- Work Environment: CBO setting
