On‑Call Position;
Hours Vary based on Business Need.
Show up for work, on time & prepared each and every scheduled work day. Perform all tasks and processes assigned to you including all tasks and processes you are fully qualified to perform and all tasks and processing that you may be over-qualified to perform. Maintain a positive and supportive attitude throughout each and every scheduled work day & work as a collaborative team member with your fellow teammates on a daily basis.
Perform tests in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, serology, and coagulation. Assist with specimen processing as needed. Follow employer policies, work with fellow employees in a professional, productive manner, and perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
ResponsibilitiesA solid understanding of basic laboratory testing, including QA/QC is required for this position. A successful candidate will possess good computer skills and be able to adapt to using multiple computer systems. The candidate should be able to take instruction from a variety of sources without adversity.
QualificationsAS degree in Medical Lab Technology or BS in Medical Laboratory Science. ASCP MLS/MLT certification or equivalent or be eligible for national MLS/MLT certification.
Ability to maintain a professional courteous and pleasant attitude in times of heavy workload and stress. Teamwork with fellow employees is a must. Keyboard skills are important. Good customer service skills, professional appearance and attitude. Holiday and weekend rotations required.
Physical and Mental Requirements- The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects:
Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance. - Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time.
- Frequent walking and/or standing.
- May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of which demand significant manual dexterity.
