- AHA BLS
- ARRT Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) certification required within 12 months of hire date
- Paramedic training program completion required within 12 months of hire date (alternative to ARRT CV)
Certification Details
- Entry-level position working under supervision to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patients.
- Provides safe, high quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care in various care settings including acute inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic/urgent care centers, and outreach clinics.
- Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with physician orders.
- Communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care team.
- Utilizes specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment to perform diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical procedures.
- Conducts post-procedure reviews to ensure documentation and technical quality.
- Transfers images and data to archival systems and prepares studies for physician reporting.
- Performs quality control checks, cleaning, and maintenance of equipment.
- Participates in continuing education, professional development, and research activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Details
- Skill in cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology, medical imaging, medical terminology, patient positioning, and medical ethics.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Sensitivity to patients’ physical and psychological needs.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations.
- Understanding of operations, policies, and procedures.
- Professional communication with staff, patients, and families.
- High level of initiative and commitment to completing assignments efficiently.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and attention to detail.
- Core knowledge of anatomy, physiology, cardiovascular and/or radiologic technologies and terminology.
- Ability to apply core-level specialty theory and techniques with general supervision.
- Associate’s degree or higher required.
- Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited cardiovascular program or JRCERT accredited radiologic technology program, or completion of Paramedic training program.
Job Requirements
- Contract length is 13 weeks.
Schedule Information
- Must meet applicant eligibility requirements and published standards for ARRT Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) within 12 months of hire date or successful completion of Paramedic training program within 12 months of hire date.
