Certification Details
- Intermediate-level position delivering specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patients.
- Provides safe, high quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care under routine or emergent conditions in various care settings including acute inpatient facilities, outpatient physician practices, diagnostic/urgent care centers, and remote statewide outreach clinics.
- Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with ordered procedures.
- Communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care team to achieve clinical outcomes and operational goals.
- Utilizes specialized imaging equipment and techniques for diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical procedures.
- Conducts post-procedure reviews to ensure completion and quality according to protocols and accreditation standards.
- Transfers images and data to archival systems and prepares studies for physician reporting.
- Performs operator-level quality control, cleaning, and high-level disinfecting per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
- Participates in continuing education, professional development, and research activities.
- Provides instruction and mentorship to less experienced team members.
- Prepares and presents in-service training relevant to assigned service area.
- Performs quality assurance and performance improvement tasks as assigned.

- Skill in cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology, medical imaging, medical terminology, patient positioning, and medical ethics.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.

- Ability to maintain accurate records and work accurately with names, numbers, and codes.
- Ability to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.

- Understanding of operations, policies, and procedures.
- Professional, polite, courteous, compassionate, and cooperative communication with staff, patients, and families.
- High level of initiative, effort, and commitment to completing assignments efficiently.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and attention to detail.
- Core to intermediate knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology; cardiovascular and/or radiologic technologies and terminology.
- Ability to apply theory, practices, and techniques to perform, post-process, analyze, and annotate study data or procedure documentation with limited direction.
- Ability to prioritize and complete clinical or non-clinical work assignments independently.
- Preferred:
One (1) year full-time experience as a certified or registered cardiovascular or radiologic technology professional in the specialty required by the hiring department. - Required
Education:
Associate’s degree or higher. - Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited program with emphasis in primary cardiovascular specialty or JRCERT accredited program with emphasis in radiologic technology or completion of Paramedic training program.
