Your Role as a Physical Therapist Assistant Responsibilities
  • As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, ensuring safe, effective, and high-quality therapy services.

    Key responsibilities include:
  • Promoting Elara Caring’s philosophy, mission, and administrative policies to support quality patient care
  • Providing direct physical therapy services in accordance with accepted standards of practice and physician certification
  • Following the established Plan of Care developed by the supervising Physical Therapist and promptly reporting any changes in patient condition
  • Adhering to all state practice act guidelines and regulatory requirements
  • Verifying the Plan of Care prior to each visit and delivering care according to physician orders, assessment data, and established standards
  • Incorporating patient-specific goals from the Plan of Care into daily therapy interventions
  • Educating patients and caregivers on the safe and effective use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices such as canes, walkers, and wheelchairs
  • Instructing patients and caregivers on home exercise and therapy programs to support continued progress
  • Maintaining accurate, timely, and thorough documentation of patient care
Work Environment &

Physical Requirements
  • Physically demanding, high-paced clinical environment
  • Full range of body motion required, including lifting, transferring, and assisting patients
  • Potential to work irregular hours or on-call schedules as needed
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently
  • Must be able to lift 50–100 lbs
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
  • Current, unrestricted Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of practice
  • Six (6) months or more of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the assigned branch or coverage area (up to 50% travel)
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance in accordance with state laws
Reporting Structure

This position reports to the Branch Director, Clinical Manager, Clinical Supervisor, or designee.
