Job Title:
Surgery Technician

The Surgery Technician supports the surgical team by performing technical duties to ensure a welcoming, professional, and efficient surgical environment. This role demonstrates expertise in surgical technical skills, communication, time management, and patient care while assisting surgeons and supporting high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Prepares surgical rooms, ensures sterile fields, sets up instruments and equipment, and assists surgeons during procedures.
- Provides pre-operative and post-operative support to patients with professionalism and care.
- Maintains, cleans, and sterilizes instruments and equipment according to standards and protocols.
- Reviews charts, confirms clearances, and calculates treatments for each surgery patient to support surgical flow.
- Follows all surgical policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance.
- Assists in time-sensitive or emergent situations with a calm, level-headed demeanor.
- Demonstrates availability, punctuality, and flexibility, filling various roles as needed within surgical operations.
- Remains current on relevant surgical practices, policies, and organizational standards.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Communicates effectively with team members, surgeons, and administration to support efficient operations and patient care.
- Travel to other locations for training or meetings as required.
- Adhere to the company's core values and serve a culture of service.
- Take charge of surgical support tasks and responsibilities with a calm and composed demeanor.
- Delegate or prioritize tasks effectively to meet workflow needs.
- Promote and participate in ongoing education and training.
- Communicate effectively with all team members, surgeons, and providers.
- Ability to work and excel in a dynamic, fast-paced surgical environment.
- Commit to participating in strategic initiatives and special projects as needed.
- Complete relevant department certifications within designated timeframe.
- Complete and comply with all OSHA and HIPAA certifications.
- Complete and maintain CPR certification.
- Commit to a full-time position, working five days a week, and participate in the on-call rotation.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; surgical tech certification preferred. - Experience:
Prior experience as a surgical tech required. - Strong knowledge of surgical operations and technical procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with EMR systems and daily chart management.
- Strong computer and organizational skills including intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Drive or similar cloud-based file management systems.
- Calm demeanor in emergent situations.
