Position Type:

Hours:
35-40 hours, benefit eligible, 401k with company match

- Provides for the assistance of the physician during the surgical case, including gathering and preparing supplies/equipment for the case.
- Ensures aseptic and sterile technique throughout the procedure.
- Maintains cleanliness of the room for turnover between cases, pulls instruments with damaged or improper function, and notifies OR Director of needed replacement/repair.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment according to Surgical Standards.
- Assist the physician with surgical cases under the direct supervision of the Circulating Registered Nurse.
- Assist Purchasing and OR Director in maintaining adequate levels of supplies and instruments for use by the Facility.
- Adhere to established Facility safety requirements and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Demonstrate continuing education to support responsibilities and growth in the profession.
- Demonstrate safe operation of equipment and machinery and follow procedures for reporting and correcting unsafe situations.
- BCLS; if not current, certification within 90 days of hire.
- Certified Surgical Scrub Technologist preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of surgical scrub training at an approved training facility or equivalent experience.
- Environmental and physical requirements: ability to read, write, and speak English fluently; cognitive skills for math, reading, filing, and sterile technique; good communication with employees and physicians; near/mid/long-range vision and ability to hear across pitches; ability to stand for long periods, occasional sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, and reaching; lifting 30-40 pounds; exposure to blood and body fluids, lasers, and chemicals.
