Senior JIB Accountant – Large E&P Oil and Gas Investment Group (Hybrid Remote)

We are an OKC based investment group seeking a Senior JIB Accountant to join our energy team. This position is permanent and requires a dynamic individual to manage the Joint Interest Billing (JIB) process.

Salary: $90,000–$110,000 per year

Responsibilities

Manage the Joint Interest Billing (JIB) process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of invoicing and revenue recognition.

Utilize Ogsys software to maintain and manage financial records, generate reports, and perform financial analysis.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the upstream process and ensure all financial aspects are accounted for accurately.

Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

Perform variance analyses and prepare account reconciliations.

Assist with internal and external audits to ensure compliance.

Develop and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the JIB process.

Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; a Master's degree or CPA certification is a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in JIB accounting, preferably in the energy industry.
Proficiency in Ogsys software is a must.
Demonstrated experience in upstream processes.
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Exceptional analytical skills and experience creating detailed reports and presentations.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage a team.
High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
