Overview

The accountant is responsible for managing, analyzing, and reporting on an organization's or an individual's financial information to ensure accuracy, legal compliance, and strategic growth.

Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Preparing and analyzing key financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Compliance & Auditing: Ensuring all financial records adhere to laws and regulations such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). This includes conducting internal audits and assisting external auditors.
  • Taxation: Computing taxes owed, preparing tax returns, and developing strategies to minimize future tax liabilities.
  • Financial Operations: Managing accounts payable (AP) and receivable (AR), reconciling bank statements, and overseeing payroll processing.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Developing annual budgets, tracking spending against forecasts, and identifying areas for cost reduction or revenue improvement.
  • Accounts & 1099s: Preparing accounts payable and handling all accounts receivable; preparing 1099s.
Required Skills
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books) and advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, financial modeling).
  • Analytical Thinking: The ability to interpret complex numerical data to identify trends, risks, and financial discrepancies.
  • Attention to Detail: High precision is required to ensure error-free financial records and regulatory compliance.
  • Communication: Explaining complex financial findings to non-specialists, managers, and stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field with required years of experience.
  • Certifications: Professional designations such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant).
