Position: Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager

Para Nano Wound Care, based in Oklahoma City, is an innovative medical device company focused on developing & manufacturing advanced solutions for early infection detection in wound care. Their flagship product, the Wound Cue™, features a flexible nanofiber membrane that visibly changes color to indicate early pathogenic activity, enabling easy and intuitive infection monitoring without the need for wires or batteries.

As one of the few medical device manufacturers in Oklahoma, Para Nano is expanding from its pilot manufacturing facility in Stillwater to a larger site in the OKC metro area to support commercial growth. Position

Summary

The Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager will oversees financial records and reports, focusing on cost accounting, inventory, gross margin analysis, and variance analysis for production processes. Key duties include managing the general ledger, performing month-end closing, ensuring GAAP compliance, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and assisting with audits. They must analyze financial data to provide insights, improve internal controls, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing costs and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cost Accounting: Develop, maintain, and analyze cost accounting systems, including tracking standard vs. actual costs, analyzing product and job costs, and understanding the impact of changes in raw materials, product design, and manufacturing methods on costs.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP.
  • Month-End Close: Oversee and manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including ledger maintenance and account reconciliations.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and analyze inventory valuation, including performing account reconciliations for physical inventories and cycle counts.
  • Variance Analysis: Analyze financial performance and variances to budget, providing detailed reports and recommendations to management.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts, providing insights for financial planning.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to enhance accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
  • Auditing: Coordinate with and provide support to external auditors during annual financial audits.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and other teams to resolve cost variances and improve processes.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with a preference for manufacturing environments.
  • Certifications: CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
  • ERP Systems: Proficiency with Enterprise Resource Planning systems (e.g., SAP, Quick Books, Xero) and Excel.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, inventory management, financial reporting, and cost accounting principles.
