Position: Measurement Analyst I

The Measurement Analyst I is responsible for validating, analyzing, and delivering accurate gas measurement data to support revenue allocation, settlement, and monthly close activities in a midstream environment. The role ensures data integrity, timely reporting, and compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preclose and close measurement activities within established deadlines
  • Validate preliminary and final volumetric and compositional measurement data
  • Investigate discrepancies and confirm or correct volume information
  • Analyze measurement data to identify trends, anomalies, and variance drivers
  • Compile and transfer final measurement data to accounting, marketing, and commercial teams
  • Support monthly allocation, balancing, and settlement processes
  • Meet monthly close deadlines by the 5th workday
  • Resolve measurement issues identified during the close process
  • Communicate with measurement and accounting teams to resolve data and balance issues
  • Provide reports and measurement data to internal and external stakeholders
  • Apply internal measurement standard operating procedures
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes‑Oxley, BLM, and applicable federal and state regulations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Gas measurement experience in a midstream environment
  • Experience as a measurement analyst or in a measurement‑focused role
  • Strong working knowledge of FLOWCAL and TestIT
  • Experience using Power BI for data analysis and reporting
  • Solid understanding of gas measurement fundamentals and orifice meter principles
  • Working knowledge of AGA3, API 14.3, and GPA 8185 standards
  • Experience with electronic flow measurement systems and flow computers
  • Experience with SCADA systems and data acquisition via telecommunications
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and functions
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to meet monthly close and allocation deadlines
