LOCATION: 421 N. W. 13th Street, Ste. 290, Oklahoma City, OK

SALARY: Up to $65,000/year, commensurate with experience

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Accounting Manager reports to the Director of Finance and is an integral member of the Finance team for the District Attorneys Council (DAC). This role services offices in all 77 counties spread across the 27 district attorney districts within the State of Oklahoma as well as the central office. The position is required to collaborate cross-functionally and use knowledge of inter-departmental practices, workflows, and compliance to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing accurate financial records, timely reporting, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards, and providing strategic financial guidance to support decision-making.

The District Attorneys Council (DAC) is an in‑person, in‑office workplace;
this is not a remote/hybrid position
.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal policies.

  • Reconcile monthly financial reports for State appropriated, agency clearing, and revolving.

  • Produce and distribute statements of financial activities for the 27 District Attorneys and the DAC.

  • Assist with the preparation of the annual financial reports (GAAP Conversion reports) as required.

  • Process, research, and resolve inquiries from individual district attorney districts concerning expenditures, payroll, and deposits reported in financial statements.

  • Assist with depositing checks received in the mail into multiple funds, including reconciling monthly deposits.

  • Assist in preparation of the agency’s budget request and annual budget including revenue/expenditure projections and data entry.

  • Be prepared to present updates on the maintenance and reconciliation of account ledgers to staff from the district attorneys’ offices.

  • Routinely monitor transactions recorded in State systems (e.g. People Soft) the DAC’s financial database and record appropriate corrections as necessary.

  • Prepare correcting entries like payroll and voucher corrections for payments posted in error.

  • Assist the Director of Finance and Executive staff as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business accounting or finance. Candidates with a minimum of seven years’ experience in the finance/accounting field may be allowed to substitute for this qualification.

  • Three years’ experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or related field.

  • State agency experience is strongly preferred.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Proper management of deadlines and workloads.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills and familiarity with Word and Outlook.

  • Experience with federal grants is preferred.

  • Experience in People Soft Financials preferred.
