SUMMARY
More experienced supervision and leadership position, generally for non-engineers & non-project management employees. Provides management and technical direction to teams for the purpose of delivering safe, cost-effective, and quality design services. Personnel responsibilities include such efforts as mentoring, training, performance appraisals, compensation reviews, time entry reviews, employee recruiting, succession planning and adherence to standards of conduct. May support more senior management in local discussions between Pike Engineering and the client at the local, operational level.
In this role, the incumbent will represent the best interest of Pike Engineering by communicating with the client, with the employees, and with Pike Engineering management on pertinent issues.
This position is subject to supervision of progress and results. Among the incumbent’s major responsibilities are the following:
Provide experienced management and leadership to ensure the availability of a skilled, qualified, and motivated workforce by:
1) Displaying effective leadership skills in motivating, rewarding, and assisting individuals through the use of innovative techniques and effective management systems;
2) Ensuring that individuals have the training, tools, personal equipment, work environment, and technical support to optimize their performance and achieve desired results; and
3) Providing individuals with honest and constructive feedback, assistance in setting priorities, and opportunities for personal and professional development.
Provide technical leadership to ensure that all specific design services are provided per applicable professional codes and standards by
1) Providing technical direction to project teams on complex multi-disciplined projects;
2) Developing and maintaining design standards, work practices, and systems;
3) Maintaining knowledge of the technical industry codes, standards, and best practices; and
4) Developing and maintaining knowledge of the current and future enablers, systems, and applications available in the industry to ensure continuous improvement.
Exhibit the highest day-to-day standards and demonstrate the highest level of business ethics and consistently adhere to and promote key values and principles in all transactions.
Ensure that all staffing and utilization goals are met by effective planning, organizing, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities.
Communicates with Pike Engineering employees under their area of responsibility to ensure that all are productive, making reasonable progress in their classifications, and assists in addressing and bringing forth any employee concerns to management.
Directs project workflow. Regularly communicates to stakeholders on issues, activities, and accomplishments.
Provide formal employee appraisals for assigned employees within area of responsibility. Will be responsible for approving all employee timesheets in their respective area, ensuring accuracy and submission in a timely manner.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEGraduate with at least a two-year degree in an Engineering Technology or related field and/or a minimum of 4-7 years of related distribution experience.
