Precast Project Drafter

Join Coreslab Structures to become a Precast Project Drafter. This role requires an AutoCAD and 3D modeler experienced in creating detailed models for the design, manufacturing, and erection of precast concrete structures. The modeler works under the direct supervision of the Drafting Supervisor.

Drafting Supervisor

• Vocation/Technical School Degree
• Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English
• 2+ years of above‑ground precast drafting experience

• Ability to read a tape measure and recognize measurements on blueprints and diagrams
• Computer literacy with basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word, internet, and email
• AutoCAD experience
• REVIT experience (or ability to learn)
• 3D modeling experience

• Develop a thorough knowledge of the sales proposal, estimate, specifications, contract documents, precast/prestressed design calculations, and all correspondence for the specific project.
• Lay out drawings consistent with Coreslab Structures standard details and practices.
• Meet with the Drafting Supervisor before initiating a project to determine the method and sequence of drawing preparation.
• Develop and maintain a drafting schedule, updating it as changes occur and reporting to the Drafting Supervisor.
• Perform all drafting functions, including erection drawings, sections, connection details, hardware details, production drawings, material lists, and other required drawings.
• Ensure drawings and lists are complete, correct, and conform to production, transportation, and erection department standards and practices.
• Coordinate and review the work assigned to other drafters on the project.
• Provide preliminary hardware details and quantities early; issue final material lists when erection drawings are approved.
• Prepare all submittal packages and transmittal letters.
• Verify the validity of comments made by approvers on submitted drawings and confirm checker comments, changes, and corrections.
• Assist the Drafting Supervisor in training new drafters and improving the skills of junior drafters.
• Develop Drafting Requests for Information (DRFIs) and assist the Project Manager with Construction Coordination Meetings (CCMs).
• Maintain the CAD file system.
• Revise drawings as indicated on checked prints received from the Checker after verifying that changes are correct.

• $19–$25 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, etc.
