Senior Mechanical Engineer – HVAC (St. Louis, MO)
Haskell’s mechanical engineering team extends its influence to virtually every aspect of facility design, working closely with architects, civil engineers and utilities planners to produce energy‑efficient, sustainable buildings.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead HVAC design, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, manage energy consumption, and support the transition from concept to commissioning.
Responsibilities- Lead HVAC and plumbing design for industrial, commercial, and institutional projects.
- Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, and utilities planners to determine building orientation, window and shading device selection, and overall energy consumption.
- Determine suitable utilities (natural gas, electricity, geothermal) and integrate systems to achieve LEED Gold or higher ratings.
- Collaborate with the sustainability team to meet LEED certification goals.
- Prepare detailed design documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Registered Mechanical Engineer with 10 years of experience (open to candidates pursuing registration with less experience).
- Experience in HVAC design; plumbing design is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of building systems, energy analysis, and sustainable design practices.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across design disciplines.
