Job Summary

EMCOR Government Services, Inc. is seeking an energetic Critical Facilities Technician to serve as a technical resource and leader for DISA Data Centers. The position will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations. The Critical Facilities Technician is responsible for the overall operation of all electrical, mechanical, HVAC and life cycle safety equipment within the data center.

The role acts as front‑line technician for hands‑on troubleshooting of mission‑critical data center facility equipment such as generators, switch gear, UPS, PDUs, CRAC units, chillers, cooling towers, fire suppression, building automation and other systems. The position is located in Oklahoma City, OK, and may require support of other shifts.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of the data center’s critical physical infrastructure.
  • Provide support to trades in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and electrical systems.
  • Ensure data center operates at maximum operational efficiency, recommending new technologies and cost reductions.
  • Monitor and respond to abnormal conditions in facilities systems.
  • Monitor electrical/critical power distribution from utility/main switch gear through UPS to customer load.
  • Ensure fire/life safety systems are operating ready.
  • Develop creative approaches to keep operational costs to a minimum, improve efficiency.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams to determine methods and sequences.
  • Ensure inspection rounds are complete and deficiencies documented.
  • Work with Lead Technicians to track and complete O&M tasks and services.
  • Engage in IDIQ improvement projects from conception to completion.
  • Coordinate daily with third‑party vendors to ensure adherence to SLAs.
  • Oversee work order projections and ensure deliverables are met.
  • Operate as after‑hours on‑call to investigate, mitigate and recover issues.
  • Report and coordinate with Facility Project Manager/Deputy Project Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain regular, predictable attendance.
  • Participate in after‑hours notification and escalation protocol.
  • Wear personal protective equipment as required.
Qualifications
  • Understanding of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems used in a data center.
  • Experience with electrical distribution, transformers, PLCs, generators, switch gear, UPS, PSC’s, ATS’s, PDUs, chilled water systems, CRAC/CRAH, pre‑action sprinklers, clean agent suppression systems.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E, building codes and fire/life safety compliance.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety best practices (lock out/tag out, arc flash, OSHA, state regulations).
  • Familiarity with data trending/tracking and integrated critical monitoring systems.
  • Hands‑on experience operating and troubleshooting large commercial/industrial systems such as chilled water systems, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, water treatment, VFD’s and pumps, HVAC equipment, CRAC/CRAH, humidification, water heaters, BAS/PLC controls, standby diesel generators, fuel systems, electrical generation/distribution, static UPS, pre‑action, clean agent.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS Work Order system.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, internal staff and contractors.
  • Ability to learn quickly and address issues during normal or after‑hours.
  • Ability to operate in a process‑driven team environment and solve complex problems.
  • Ability to multi‑task multiple projects.
  • Ability to operate hand and machine tools (hammer, drill, saw).
