Director, Construction – Data Centers (Jacobs)

Jacobs is looking for an experienced Construction Director focused on data center projects across the Midwest. The role is based in Indianapolis or remote.

• Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of complex data center construction projects.
• Engage directly with clients, construction teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure technical excellence, schedule adherence, and budget performance.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, navigate challenges, and drive innovation in a fast‑paced environment.
• Maintain strong client relationships and oversee project deliveries.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 15 years of experience in heavy construction, with at least 5 years focused on data center or mission‑critical facilities.
• Proven leadership in managing large‑scale, fast‑track construction projects.
• Strong working knowledge of MEP systems, commissioning, design‑build delivery, and technology infrastructure.
• Experience building and leading high‑performing teams.
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience with hyperscale clients, enterprise data centers, or colocation facilities.
• Familiarity with Uptime Institute standards, Tier certifications, and energy‑efficient design.
• Passion for innovation and continuous improvement in construction practices.
• Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and remote environments.
