Primary Function of Position:
Teach Project Lead the Way - Gateway to Technology courses at Central Creek Middle School. Work collaboratively with Deer Creek Public Schools administrators and teachers to provide quality instruction and services. Ensure effective evaluation of student achievement. Support the development and integration of technical and academic curricula. Develop external partnerships that enhance student learning.

Essential Job Functions:

* Teaches Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Gateway to Technology courses as assigned.

* Evaluates student achievement based on assignments and tests according to grading policies and procedures.

* Maintains accurate student records including attendance and academic progress.

* Develops appropriate curriculum/lessons that meet or exceed the course scope and sequence required by both Francis Tuttle and Deer Creek Public Schools. Effectively integrate project-based learning and academics (science and mathematics) into Gateway to Technology curricula.

* Develops and fosters partnerships with external groups that represent business and industry, community, and civic and professional organizations. The outcomes of these partnerships will include opportunities for student mentoring, effective advisory committees; promoting and marketing; and scheduling of speakers.

* Assists in developing the program budget and operate within the program budget following established procedures.

* Demonstrates effective interpersonal, presentation, and instructional techniques.

* Collaborates with administration and staff of Central Creek Middle School and Francis Tuttle Technology Center and meet expectations set by both districts.

* Participates in school committees and career technology teacher education professional associations.

* Advises and promotes leadership and skills development for all students through active participation in the Career Technical Student Organization (CTSO) of TSA.

* Responsible for classroom/Lab management, maintenance of official student records, reports, grades, maintenance of inventory, program budget, and state program follow-up reporting.

* Participates in essential Central Creek Middle School events, including Open House and Parent/Teacher conferences.

* Participates in essential Francis Tuttle school events including staff development and Summer Conference.

* Ability to be present on the job as described under working conditions and contract details.

* Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Bachelor s degree with a current Oklahoma Teacher s Certificate required.

* Certification in mathematics or science preferred.

* Preference will be given to applicants with current PLTW training.

* A successful candidate without previous experience teaching GTT must attend required PLTW Gateway to Technology training.

* Strong written communication demonstrated in both letter and email.

* Ability to understand and meet critical deadlines.

* Ability to excel in a fast-paced work environment by prioritizing tasks and projects.

* Strong flexibility, time management, and organizational skills are a must.

* Ability to cultivate, build and maintain strong long-term working relationships with individuals or organizations with diverse perspectives and backgrounds, adopting practices that promote diversity and equity, consequently maximizing opportunities for student engagement and motivation.

* Anticipate needs, be resourceful and have ability to build strong employee partnerships within the organization.
