General Description
The College for Kids Head Camp Counselor will assist in the implementation of a variety of activities during the College for Kids summer program.

What position(s) reports to this position?
College for Kids Camp Counselors
Must be 16 years of age or older.
Current high school student, high school graduate or equivalent.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to interact with youth ages 6 to 14.
Ability to give direction and supervision to youth.
Ability to interact effectively with the public.
Positive oral and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements:
Light work:
The person in this position may occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Activities:
This position requires the person to frequently move about the various sites used for the College for Kids program.
This position requires the person to frequently remain in a standing and stationary position.
This position requires the person to frequently position self to access materials that may be above head or at ground level.
This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to camp participants, parents, administration, faculty, staff, students, and others to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.
This position requires the person to perceive attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
Visual Acuity:
This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.
Working Conditions:
This position performs the essential functions in indoor and outdoor settings.
Preferred Qualifications
Background or experience working in organized youth activities or programs.

Work hours will be scheduled Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30am to 5:30pm.

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement)
Supervisor College for Kids Camp Counselors.
Supervise a variety of activities and youth programs.
Assist the teachers in scheduling and planning of activities.
Provide day to day supervision of youth, and report problems or discipline issues to the supervisor.
Preparation and clean up of classroom before and after games or activities.
Enforce Oklahoma City Community College policies and procedures.
Notify appropriate personnel of repair, equipment, or staffing needs.
Maintain attendance records of camp participants.
Assist as needed with camper check in/check out and lunch supervision.

Abide by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures.
Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.
Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.
Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC’s established safety and health procedures and practices.
Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation and shelter in place drills and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
