The Financial Aid Student Assistant assists front‑counter staff and receptionists by receiving, distributing, and providing general information about financial aid. The role also manages individual student files, supports the centralized filing system, and assists advisors with data collection and entry.

Eligibility- Current OCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours (Fall or Spring) or 3 credit hours (Summer)
- OR current OCCC student with a Federal Work Study award
- Positive human relations/customer service skills
- Attention to accuracy and detail

- Basic computer skills

Physical Requirements:
Sedentary work, occasional lifting up to 10 pounds - Physical
Activities:
Frequent communication with students, staff, and faculty; operate computer and office equipment; repetitive hand/wrist motions; tactile perception of object attributes - Visual Acuity: Ability to observe and assess accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness

Work hours will be arranged during normal Financial Aid Office hours:
- Mon – Thurs 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Fri 8:0 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Assist current and prospective students by receiving and accepting financial aid documents
- Provide general information about the financial aid process
- Assist in the development and maintenance of individual student files
- Assist with the centralized scanning and filing system of the Financial Aid Office
- Answer the main telephone line for student inquiries
- Abide by Board of Regents and college policies and procedures
- Contribute to a safe educational and working environment
- Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices
- Complete quarterly health and safety training per OCCC procedures
- Participate in all applicable emergency, evacuation, and shelter-in-place drills
