The Senior Operations Officer ensures the smooth and efficient execution of MKSPAMP’s operational activities. This role supports core refining, trading, and logistics operations while contributing to continuous process improvement, system testing, and cross-departmental collaboration. Acting as a subject matter expert, the incumbent provides operational leadership and contributes to seamless coordination between departments.

- Perform and monitor daily operational processes within refining, trading, and back-office functions.
- Work closely with traders, brokers, logistic agents, inspection companies, clients, and suppliers to ensure smooth coordination and communication among internal/external stakeholders.
- Manage and monitor physical precious metal deliveries from/to group refineries, from/to third parties- banks, including exchanges (mainly CME)
- Verify completeness and accuracy of incoming/outgoing documentation (invoices, air waybills, packing lists, assay certificates, etc.) and ensure timely system inputs.
- Forecast, record and follow up on provisional and final outgoing and incoming payments, in coordination with the Treasury Department.
- Manage physical metals inventories in diverse storage locations including exchange depositories, and related warrants.
- Collaborate with the Logistics Department to monitor all physical movements and ensure operational accuracy.
- Reconcile client accounts and balances, following up on price fixing, payments, and delivery schedules.
Provide operational coverage during staff absences or high-volume periods, including independent management of operations for the US–LATAM time zones
Control & Compliance- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Identify and assess process or system inefficiencies, risks, or gaps, and recommend practical solutions for improvement.
- Support issue resolution and exception handling, escalating when appropriate.
- Participate in testing and implementation of system or process enhancements.
- Execute all operational activities accurately and on schedule, ensuring alignment with business, regulatory, and compliance standards.
- Enforce internal controls and adherence to operational procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting to ensure transparency, traceability, and audit readiness.
- Promote synergies and foster strong collaboration across departments.
- Propose improvements and contribute innovative ideas.
- Carry out duties in a gender- and diversity-sensitive manner.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

- Master’s degree in economics, finance, or a related field
- Minimum 5-8 years of work experience, in an operational role, required ideally within a base metals or precious metals environment.
- Strong knowledge of trading agreements/contracts, Incoterms, payment instruments/guarantees (LC-SBLC).
- Knowledge of derivatives and their operational implications is an asset
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain high standards of accuracy and compliance.
- Fluent in English, proficiency in Spanish or French is a plus.
- Full professional proficiency in Office 365 is expected.
