Addison Group is partnering with one of our clients to hire a detail-oriented and organized Document Clerk. This role supports day-to-day document management operations and plays a key part in maintaining accurate, accessible, and compliant records across the organization.
Job DescriptionThe Document Clerk will be responsible for organizing, maintaining, and safeguarding company records throughout their lifecycle. This role works closely with internal teams to ensure documents are properly stored, retrieved, and archived while following established procedures and timelines.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and monitor document control systems to ensure records are accurate, current, and easy to retrieve
- Scan, index, and organize both physical and electronic files according to established guidelines
- Archive inactive records in compliance with retention policies
- Manage document requests and track distribution and access activity
- Support project teams by assisting with documentation such as meeting notes, drawings, specifications, and approvals
- Train team members on document control standards, tools, and best practices
- Perform additional administrative or documentation-related tasks as needed
- 2+ years of experience in document control or records management
- Experience in manufacturing, construction, or similar environments preferred
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
- Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision
- Proven customer service skills when supporting internal and external stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with document control systems, SharePoint, FTP platforms, and scanning equipment preferred
- Comfortable learning new technologies and systems quickly
