We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant-Payroll to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant – Payroll is responsible for payroll processing and general accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. This role requires an accounting background and professional credentialing. This position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic organization committed to excellence in financial management. The successful candidate will be integral to maintaining the integrity of our financial operations while supporting organizational growth through accurate reporting and compliance.
Responsibilities- Process and review payroll, including wages, deductions, taxes, and filings
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations
- Support month-end and year-end close activities
- Assist with audits and provide payroll and accounting documentation
- Maintain internal controls related to payroll and financial reporting
- Support financial reporting and ad-hoc accounting projects as needed

- Bachelor’s or master's degree in accounting and/or Finance
- CPA Required
- Proven experience with corporate accounting practices including financial statement preparation and general ledger reconciliation
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial concepts such as debits & credits, cash flow analysis, and account reconciliation
- Proficiency with accounting software such as Quick Books, Sage, People Soft, Xero or similar platforms; advanced skills in Microsoft Excel required
- Experience with payroll processing systems and tax experience related to payroll is essential
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial reports and perform financial analysis effectively - Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
