Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced accounting professional to join the firm in a manager-level capacity, overseeing client-facing bookkeeping operations and ensuring the integrity of financial records across a diverse client portfolio. The right candidate will bring deep technical knowledge, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to lead a team while maintaining high standards of accuracy ahead of reporting and tax deadlines.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage bookkeeping functions for a portfolio of clients spanning multiple industries, ensuring timely and accurate financial recordkeeping
- Perform and oversee account reconciliations including bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
- Review and maintain the accuracy of transaction recording within accounting software platforms
- Analyze and refine journal entries to ensure proper financial reporting
- Conduct thorough reviews of periodic and year-end financial statements before distribution internally or externally
- Partner cross-functionally with other departments to align financial data with broader reporting and compliance needs
- Coach, develop, and support a team of accounting staff, fostering a culture of accuracy and continuous improvement
- Evaluate existing workflows and champion process improvements that enhance efficiency and reporting quality
- Act as a subject matter resource for client inquiries involving complex bookkeeping matters
- 5+ years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping capacity, with preference given to candidates from client-service or multi-account environments
- Advanced proficiency in Quick Books (Desktop and/or Online)
- Solid command of full-cycle accounting principles including reconciliations and journal entries
- Familiarity with payroll processes and how they integrate with financial reporting
- Demonstrated ability to review financial statements for completeness and accuracy
- Cross-industry experience is a plus
- Proven ability to lead and develop staff in a professional setting
- Strong organizational skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving
- Clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal
- CPA or equivalent credential is welcomed but not required
