We are seeking an experienced Tax Accountant / Senior Tax Accountant to join our tax team. This role is ideal for a motivated professional with a strong foundation in tax compliance and a desire to support clients through accurate tax preparation, research, planning, and advisory services. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and directly engage with clients while ensuring timely and compliant filings.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and file federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and other entities.
- Develop and maintain detailed tax work papers, schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Conduct tax research on complex issues and provide accurate analysis and recommendations.
- Assist with tax planning strategies to help clients manage liabilities and plan for future obligations.
- Maintain compliance with current tax laws and interpret changes in regulations.
- Support clients during tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Collaborate with peers to complete departmental initiatives and process improvements.
- For senior level, review work of junior staff, provide guidance, and help develop technical tax skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA certification or progress toward CPA strongly preferred, especially for senior roles.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of tax experience in public accounting or related environment.
- Strong understanding of federal and state tax laws and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and tax preparation/research software; experience with industry tools preferred.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate and timely tax work.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, particularly during peak tax season.
