Job Description

The Auditor III plays a critical role within the Program Integrity and Accountability Division of the Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA). This position is responsible for conducting comprehensive audits to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations while promoting the integrity and efficiency of Medicaid programs. The incumbent develops audit objectives, methodologies, and procedures, manages audit activities to meet organizational deadlines, and provides detailed analyses and appraisals of evidentiary data.

Through meticulous auditing, the Auditor III ensures program effectiveness and accountability, contributing to OHCA's mission of better health for Oklahomans.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in establishing audit objectives, methodology, and procedures.
  • Complete audit work for assigned audits.
  • Manage audit activities to ensure timely completion.
  • Obtain, analyze, and appraise evidentiary data for informed audit opinions.
  • Prepare audit notifications and reports.
  • Ensure thorough, objective, and well‑documented audits.
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring Program Integrity initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, candidates must have the following knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of agency policies, state and federal regulations, and auditing principles.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed recommendations.
  • Effective communication, critical thinking, and organizational coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in navigating complex audit issues (Manages Complexity) and ensuring accountability.
Education and Experience
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or public administration AND
  • 2 years of qualifying experience in professional auditing or accounting, OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of paraprofessional auditing or accounting experience for each year of the required education.
Preference Qualifications
  • Experience with DHS and OHS auditing and/or systems.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Work is typically performed in an office setting with climate‑controlled environments and moderate noise levels.
