Position Summary

Position Summary... What you'll do... Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching training and actively listening to associates touring stores and providing feedback. Tourto Teach communicating and collaborating with all levels of associates regarding store operations utilizing technology business initiatives, merchandising and company direction introducing and leading company change efforts providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicating business objectives to teams effectively.

Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way OBW service model, managing and supporting customer service initiatives including community programs, ensuring customer needs and issues are resolved, and developing action plans to correct deficiencies and provide process improvement leadership for a high quality customer experience.

What you’ll do
  • Drive the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating PL statements, budgeting, forecasting and controlling expenses in the area to confirm alignment to sales metrics.
  • Monitor merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow and operational processes; develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training and mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, recognizing associates and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace.
  • Recruit and develop qualified associates to meet staffing needs and growth potential; coordinate and oversee job-related activities with key stakeholders and plan initiatives to meet customer and business needs.
  • Support compliance with company policies and ethics; promote Open Door Policy and apply these in executing business processes and practices.
  • Build high-performing teams, embrace differences, and create a workplace where associates feel seen, supported and connected through a culture of belonging.
  • Attract, develop and recognize talent; act with integrity and align with Walmart values, supporting the goal of becoming a regenerative company through positive impact for associates, customers and the community.
  • Serve customers and members by delivering results with the customer first mindset and applying EDLP/EDLC business models to plans.
  • Drive continuous improvements, embrace new technologies and support others through change.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.
    • 2 years’ of college; OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience; OR 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience.
    • For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training may be required.
    • For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state-specific requirements, a current state issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
    • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
  • Preferred Qualifications Outlined below are the optional preferred qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no preferred qualifications.
    • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
