The Pattern Warehouse Specialist/Inventory Control is responsible for leadership and daily operations of the Pattern Warehouse on 1st Shift, focusing on inventory accuracy, material flow, and shipping/receiving coordination. This position ensures patterns are received, stored, staged, and delivered to production safely, efficiently, and on time.
Essential Functions- Lead and supervise all 1st shift warehouse activities, including receiving, put-away, storage, staging, material movement, and shipping.
- Ensure accurate, organized inventory through cycle counts, audits, and proper documentation.
- Maintain a clean and efficient warehouse layout with clearly labeled and accessible materials.
- Coordinate material availability with Production, Purchasing, Pattern Shop, and Quality.
- Oversee shipping and receiving functions, verifying shipments, Bills of Lading, and documentation.
- Enforce safe operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and other material‑handling equipment.
- Train and develop warehouse staff in safety, efficiency, and proper handling procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement to reduce errors, waste, and downtime.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and safety standards.
- Ensure patterns and prototypes meet quality and dimensional requirements.
- Coordinate tooling readiness, repairs, and preventive maintenance needs.
- Oversee shop tools, equipment, supply inventory, and shop organization.
- Maintain communication between the pattern shop, warehouse, and production.
- Support scheduling, workload planning, and daily prioritization.
- Evaluate team performance, provide feedback, and address personnel issues.
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- 3+ years of warehouse or inventory management experience
- Experience leading or supervising warehouse/production teams
- Strong understanding of material flow, inventory control, and warehouse best practices
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
- Driver’s license
- Blueprint reading
- Fork lift
- Using hand tools
- Technical/trade education
- Background in carpentry, pattern making, tooling, or related fields
- Experience with ERP or warehouse management software
$30–$35/hour, based on experience.
Computer Skills- MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with ERP or inventory management systems preferred
- 1st shift schedule
