Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join the Wauseon Exempted Village School District as a Full-Time Bus Driver for the  school year.

Willing to train and certify the right candidate!

The ideal candidate will be committed to ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school and related activities. This position requires a strong sense of responsibility, excellent communication skills, and a passion for working with children.

• Safely operate a school bus to transport students to and from school, extracurricular activities, and field trips.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
• Maintain a clean and organized bus interior.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.
• Monitor student behavior and enforce safety rules on the bus.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding transportation schedules and any issues that may arise.
• Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, especially those with special needs.
• Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the appropriate authorities.
• Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required.
• Complete necessary paperwork and maintain accurate records, including student attendance and incident reports.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 21 years of age or older; valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a school bus endorsement or ability to obtain one.
• Clean driving record and background check.
• Previous experience driving a bus or working with children is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and patient in stressful situations.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and traffic laws related to school transportation.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons.
• First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
• Position Type:
  Full-time
• Salary: $20 to $30 Per Hour

• High School/Trade School degree preferred.
