Part-Time or Full Time CDL Instructor | Millersburg, OH

At Mast Trucking, our CDL Training Program exists to train the right people to become great drivers
. Our business and our drivers are only as strong as the training they receive and that starts with the instructors.

We’re looking for a part-time CDL Instructor who takes pride in passing on their knowledge. Someone who can connect with people from all walks of life, hold high standards, and teach in a way that’s clear, firm, and respectful.

• Instruct trainees in real-world road driving scenarios
• Instruct trainees on yard skills, including backing and maneuvering
• Offer real-time coaching that builds skills and confidence, not just criticism
• Push trainees to meet expectations while maintaining respect and professionalism
• Adapt your teaching approach to meet the needs of different learners—what works for one trainee might not work for the next
• Make smart calls that balance high standards with steady progress through the program
• Demonstrate what good looks like—professionalism, safety-first thinking, and wise decisions
• Work alongside fellow instructors to problem-solve and improve the program

• Calm under pressure and steady throughout long days
• Strong communicator who connects well with all types of people
• Motivated by helping others succeed and take on life-changing careers
• Able to give and receive feedback without ego
• Willing to adapt, learn, and try new approaches when needed
• Comfortable working outdoors year-round in all weather
• Flexible with scheduling and dependable day to day

• Valid Class A CDL
• At least 5 years of experience with Class A tractor trailers
• Minimum 2 years of over-the-road (OTR) experience
• Reefer experience preferred
• No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years
• No DUIs in the past 10 years
• Must live near Millersburg, Ohio
• Able to pass a DOT physical, drug screen and background check
