About the job GIS Expert (Senior Developer/SME)
Key priorities include the full productization and automation of the Privatschutz (PSGEO) solution (Germany-specific Quote&Buy journey enablement), tighter identity and access management, migration of code to cloud-native Golang, and the integration of Kafka streaming to boost real-time performance. In addition, the team will deliver API upgrades (including vendor integration and performance tuning), custom monitoring via Dynatrace, and dedicated R&D initiatives to stay ahead of evolving business needs.
Specialized contractors will support this transformation with expertise in API development, multi-tenancy evolution, GIS tool integration, secure architecture design, script optimization, and cost efficiency measures. Together, these initiatives will deliver a modern, secure, and scalable GIS platform that supports Allianz Groups 2026 requirements and beyond.
Key Responsibilities- Code Unification & Cleanup
- Migrate Azure functions and scripts from Python to Golang for improved performance and maintainability.
- Eliminate redundant resources and streamline pipelines to drive efficiency and cost savings.
- Kafka Integration Real-Time Streaming
- Integrate Kafka services into GIS APIs (transactional and batch).
- Deliver scalable, on-demand streaming capabilities to enhance API responsiveness and throughput.
- Geocoding & Geo enrichment
- Implement vendor-driven updates and integrate new providers into a standardized global Azure function.
- Optimize processing speed and resilience under high load for both batch and transactional APIs.
- Ensure minimal customer impact while maintaining cutting-edge geospatial capabilities.
- Architecture & Operational Improvements
- Develop APIs aligned with Allianz CISL standards on Azure.
- Advance multi-tenancy to support OE portfolio-based accumulation.
- Integrate new GIS tools and vendor APIs (e.g., Esri, HERE, Azure).
- Design architecture compliant with Allianz Group security standards.
- Simplify scripts for performance optimization.
- Drive cost efficiency through driver assessment and resource optimization.
- Proven experience in Python, Golang, Azure Functions, and Kafka.
- Strong background in GIS technologies, including geocoding and geoenrichment.
- Familiarity with Esri, HERE, Google and other geospatial APIs.
- Experience with enterprise architecture, especially in regulated environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
