We are seeking energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role for the position of Natural Resources Technician 3 within the Division of Parks & Watercraft headquartered at Deer Creek State Park

Please note, this position requires a CDL Class A with no restrictions.

What you will do…
  • Work outside in some of the most beautiful parks in Ohio.
  • Perform customer service functions with a willingness to go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction and safety.
  • Acts as a lead worker for excavation and equipment projects.
  • Maintain campground facilities, grounds &/or equipment.
  • Maintain a variety of park equipment and vehicles.
  • Interact daily with a variety of customers who utilize the park & watercraft facilities.
  • This position requires a Class A Commercial Drivers License.
  • Starting hourly pay of $22.60/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 5.5 years of service, with an end salary of $25.77/hr.
  • There may also be cost of living adjustments (COLA) applied. Longevity pay supplements begin after (5) years of state service. For more details, refer to the OCSEA pay range schedule & longevity rates OCSEA Employees | Department of Administrative Services.
Qualifications
  • 12 months training or 12 months experience in safety practices.
  • 12 months training or 12 months experience in use of shop, hand & power tools & light equipment.
  • 12 months training or 12 months experience in carpentry, electrical repair & plumbing.
  • 12 months training or 12 months experience in equipment operation, maintenance & repair (e.g., tractors with attachments).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Valid commercial driver’s license required if motor equipment is of type & size regulated by Sections 4506.01 & 4506.12 of Ohio Revised Code.
  • Or 6 months experience as Natural Resources Technician 2, 22622.
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
