Job Summary
The Solar Installer will assist with the installation of solar panels, roof racking, and solar equipment or fixtures based on job specifications and local codes under the direction of the electrical foreman.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNone
Duties / Responsibilities- Assist with layout and installation of roof racking, solar panels, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes
- Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, and power tools
- Follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring or equipment and ensure conformance to building and safety codes
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, lifts, elevated lifts, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair solar equipment or fixtures
- Construct or fabricate parts using hand tools according to specifications
- Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit or moving or lifting heavy objects up to or above 75 lbs.
- Maintain customer relationships and provide exceptional customer service; zero customer complaints; no unjustified loss of customers or vendors
- Promote safety, have zero safety violations, wear proper PPE, and follow company, customer, and OSHA policies
- Advise management if continued operation of equipment could be hazardous
- Communicate requested time off through the "Electric Time Off" email with a 2‑week notice
- Must possess a great can‑do attitude
- Analyze areas that need improvements
- Show good work ethic, ambition, and willingness to follow instructions
- Possess great punctuality and be ready to work at scheduled time and for the duration
- Have required tools as per tool list, be attentive to and carry out instructions, and be neat with installations
- Possess good communication skills
- Communicate well with Foreman and co-workers; ask if you do not understand
- Maintain and build relationships with all employees by working well as a team and showing respectful communication skills
- Maintain a clean appearance
- Have reliable transportation to the job site with a valid DL
- Traveling and out of town may be required
- Must be able to perform work in all weather conditions
- Must be able to work from heights including ladders, roofs, and elevated lifts
- Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks such as digging trenches, laying conduit, or lifting heavy objects of 75 pounds or more
