Your Tasks- Discovery of novel muscular dystrophy‑associated genes and molecular mechanisms using state‑of‑the‑art OMICs techniques, in particular long‑read RNA sequencing and spatial transcriptomics
- Characterization of mouse models to investigate the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms leading to muscular dystrophy
- Development of novel antisense oligonucleotides for exon‑skipping therapy of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in‑vitro and in mdx mouse models
- Development of protein quantification techniques, including mass spectrometry
- Collaboration with an international team under supervision and leadership of the principal investigator
- Publication of impactful original research papers
- Ph.D. in biology or related field with a strong interest in drug development for genetically inherited diseases; interested and qualified MDs are also considered and encouraged to apply
- Hands‑on experience with animal models is desirable
- A solid background in molecular biology is desirable
- Ability to work on multiple projects in collaboration with others
- Programming skills are preferred
- Creativity and capability to develop a competitive research project while working autonomously under the supervision of a team leader
Your salary will be based on qualification and experience, including benefits according to TV‑L. The position is currently for nine months but will be extended if the candidate is successful. You will work in a very good scientific environment, with a broad repertoire of methods, supportive supervision, and a friendly group. Short‑term visits to other labs in Germany and abroad are possible.
