Job Summary
This position is responsible to plan, perform, and document Quality Control (QC) inspections in one or more specialized areas with minimal supervision at the Piketon and vendor/supplier facilities. Personnel in this position are experienced in Quality Control inspection and acceptance and will ensure Quality requirements are met in accordance with the Quality Assurance Program Description (QAPD) and U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations.
WhatYou Will Be Doing
- Plans,performs,anddocumentsassignedinspectionactivities
- Plansandperformsoversightandmonitoringofmanufacturing,construction,or operations activities as assigned
- Identifiesanddocumentsnonconformingconditions
- Follows Document Control and Records Managementproceduresforfilingandretrieving quality/non-quality inspection records and procedures
- Reinspectsreworkedorrepaireditemstoverifycompletionandeffectivenessofcorrectiveactions and closes them out as appropriate
- InterfaceswithoutsidecontractorstodevelopandcompleteQCinspectionplansasneeded
- Supportssupplierselectionandperformanceevaluationactivities
- Planandperformcommercialgradesurveysandothercommercialgradededicationactivitiesas needed
- Supports Readiness Assessments ,Independent Readiness Reviews ,and Operational
Readiness Reviews as assigned - Servesonauditteamsasneeded
- Serveasan Investigation Teammemberwhenassigned
- Interfaceswithregulators,suchasthe
NRCorDOE,duringinspectionsandassessments - PerformsotherrelateddutiesasassignedandasspecifiedinQAandQCprocedures
- Maintains knowledge of and demonstrates ability to perform work safely in accordance with all approvedsafetypolicies,proceduresandapplicableregulationsandperformsassigneddutiesina safe manner
- Otherdutiesandtasksasassignedbymanagement
- Providesrecommendationstodecisionmakersregardingtheacceptanceanduseofqualityaspects required for safe and compliant operation

Typicalexperienceranges from 2 - 4 years of inspection/assessment experience in an industrial or nuclear setting - Experienceinaqualitycontrolrolefordesignandconstructionandknowledgeoffield construction activities.
- Requiresproficientcomputerskills,suchasbutnotlimitedto,Word,Excel,Access,PowerPoint, Adobe to process records and generate reports, charts, spreadsheets, and presentations
- Preferencegiventocandidatescurrentlypossessinga"Q"or"L"clearance
- Previousexperienceat
NRC regulated site - Certificationinoneormoreofthe following:
- Receiving,Dimensional,Mechanical,Electrical,orCivil Inspection
- Visual Weld Inspection (AWSCWIpreferred)
- Leak Testing(Helium Leak Testingpreferred )
- Liquid Penetrant,Magnetic Particle,Radiographic,orUltrasonic Inspection
- BS-Scienceor Technical Education
- American Societyfor Quality (ASQ)
Certifications - LeadNQA-1
Auditor Certification - Applicable Quality Assurance Industry Knowledgeincluding NRC/DOERegulations(NQA-1and DOE O 414.1D)
- Military Experience

This position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.

This position requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain a Q security clearance.
Candidates for positions requiring a security clearance are required to be tested for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR 707.4 prior to an offer of employment being made. In addition, once employe, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a Q security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government. Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
