Quality Control Specialist

Job Summary

This position is responsible to plan, perform, and document Quality Control (QC) inspections in one or more specialized areas with minimal supervision at the Piketon and vendor/supplier facilities. Personnel in this position are experienced in Quality Control inspection and acceptance and will ensure Quality requirements are met in accordance with the Quality Assurance Program Description (QAPD) and U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations.

• Identifiesanddocumentsnonconformingconditions
• Follows Document Control and Records Managementproceduresforfilingandretrieving  quality/non-quality inspection records and procedures
• Reinspectsreworkedorrepaireditemstoverifycompletionandeffectivenessofcorrectiveactions and closes them out as appropriate
• InterfaceswithoutsidecontractorstodevelopandcompleteQCinspectionplansasneeded
• Supportssupplierselectionandperformanceevaluationactivities
• Planandperformcommercialgradesurveysandothercommercialgradededicationactivitiesas needed
• Supports Readiness Assessments ,Independent Readiness Reviews ,and Operational

• Servesonauditteamsasneeded

  Typicalexperienceranges from 2 - 4 years of inspection/assessment experience in an industrial or nuclear setting
• Experienceinaqualitycontrolrolefordesignandconstructionandknowledgeoffield construction activities.
• Requiresproficientcomputerskills,suchasbutnotlimitedto,Word,Excel,Access,PowerPoint, Adobe to process records and generate reports, charts, spreadsheets, and presentations

• Certificationinoneormoreofthe following:
  • Receiving,Dimensional,Mechanical,Electrical,orCivil Inspection

  • Liquid Penetrant,Magnetic Particle,Radiographic,orUltrasonic Inspection
• BS-Scienceor Technical Education
• American Societyfor Quality (ASQ)
  Certifications
• LeadNQA-1
  
  Auditor Certification
• Applicable Quality Assurance Industry Knowledgeincluding NRC/DOERegulations(NQA-1and DOE O 414.1D)
• Military Experience

In addition, once employe, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a Q security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government. Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
