Overview

The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day departmental activities to ensure the Quality Management System (QMS) meets both internal and external requirements. This role supports production by ensuring quality personnel are appropriately scheduled, attends T3-level meetings, and provides quality assurance support to assigned programs or areas to ensure products meet all customer quality requirements. The Quality Manager also reviews and analyzes quality trends for assigned products or programs.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct day-to-day department reviews to ensure the Quality System is effective and compliant.
  • Attend and actively participate in T3-level meetings.
  • Oversee scheduling of Quality personnel to ensure adequate support based on production requirements.
  • Provide quality assurance support to assigned programs and/or areas to ensure products are built in accordance with customer quality standards.
  • Review and analyze quality trends related to assigned products or programs.
  • Participate in the review of design, manufacturing, testing, and supplier documentation, including:
    • Design drawings
    • Process procedures
    • Quality manuals
    • Test procedures
    • Inspection and analysis documentation
  • Identify root causes of quality issues and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Ensure product quality objectives are met within the assigned product group or program.
  • Recommend and/or implement corrective actions in collaboration with Manufacturing, Engineering, Design, Purchasing, and other departments.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of customer and quality system requirements, including FEMA, APQP, MSA, and SPC.
  • Participate in problem resolution activities; identify quality concerns and communicate effectively across departments.
  • Adhere to the Quality and Environmental Policies related to:
    • ISO 9001:2015 (QMS)
    • ISO 14001:2015 (EMS)
    • IATF 16949:2016 (AQMS)
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent quality-related experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience, preferably within plastic manufacturing and/or automotive environments
