Job DescriptionWe are seeking energetic, passionate individuals who enjoy the outdoors and are ready to play a key role as a Seasonal Lifeguard for the Division of Parks & Watercraft at Hocking Hills State Park.
What You Will Do- Rescue swimmers in distress, using rescue equipment such as tubes, boards, or a canoe, and perform emergency first aid (CPR, bleeding control, etc.).
- Guard designated swimming areas, advise the public on safety rules, and enforce applicable regulations.
- Complete incident report forms and inspect safety equipment for needed repairs.
- Maintain the swimming area, including picking up litter, emptying trash containers, checking restrooms and vending machines, mowing grass, and painting surfaces.
- Keep supervisors informed of maintenance needs and any safety concerns.
May 2026 – September 2026.
Work HoursWeekend, evening, and rotating shift duty during peak season.
Unusual Working ConditionsExposure to weather elements, general public interaction, and potential danger during water rescue operations.

Temporary positions lasting less than four months do not require a drug test; longer than four months, a urine drug screen is required before appointment.
Qualifications- Valid American Red Cross lifeguard training certificate (or equivalent). Acceptable certifications include National YMCA lifeguard, BSA lifeguard, BSA aquatic instructor, Ellis & Associates national pool/lifeguard training certificate.
- CPR certification.
- Demonstrated ability to protect public safety in the water.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
