What is Gigi’s? We’re not your typical non-profit— we’re a startup, rapidly growing organization that provides integrated shelter, veterinary, and behavior care for homeless dogs in rural shelters. Our mission is clear: improving the lives of shelter dogs™ requires a different approach. That’s why we’ve brought together a team of experts in one state-of-the-art facility, creating a more cost-effective way to deliver high-quality care and save more lives.

We’re always seeking top talent, dedicated animal caretakers, and driven individuals who are ready to make a difference. Gigi’s is adding new programming to offer low-cost veterinary services to high-quality rescues, and we’re expanding our veterinary team. Come join our team of experts and learn while saving lives!

We focus on personal growth alongside our mission. We believe in empowering our team to excel in what they love, push their boundaries, and grow into professionals they’re proud to be. Our culture is rooted in support, intentional growth, and collaboration—and we are building a future of shelter dog care that will set the standard.

  • represent Gigi’s in a professional and courteous manner at all times
  • be an active member of Team Gigi’s and develop skills related to the advancement of our goals and mission
  • Other duties as assigned? Absolutely. We think every job should change and grow—getting more efficient and effective as we go! All members of Team Gigi’s collaborate and change tasks as needed. You will most certainly do things we haven’t listed here; some are tasks we haven’t captured because they’re too small to capture, some are projects we haven’t considered that you’ll bring to the team, some things we’ll build together to improve the care of dogs forever.
Opportunities
  • Constant feedback, growth, and improvement
  • Ownership of patient care
  • Experience with diverse care function
  • Professional development
  • Multidisciplinary approach

Want to know more about us and this role? We operate in a state‑of‑the‑art hospital that sits inside a three‑building, 26,000‑square‑foot campus doing things like high‑volume/high‑quality spay and neuter, veterinary behavior medicine – alongside a board‑certified veterinary behaviorist! – parvovirus treatment, dental surgery, diagnostics, mass removals, and more. We do shelter medicine at a volume and skill level that will fulfill you as much as it challenges you!

Working

at Gigi’s

Think of us as shelter medicine, meets private practice, meets education and research – all for the rural dogs and the people that care for them; from that rural pup that needs lifesaving parvo treatment to the rural shelter professional who is looking for ideas to help a fearful dog.

We’re here to create partnerships, to learn, and to grow through challenging each other and collaborating. We are chill and supportive, but professional and driven. Most importantly, we aren’t an adventure for everyone, but for those who get it and get us, you’ll be happy you joined.

Qualifications
  • Veterinary license for Ohio
  • Experience in animal care
  • Comfort with computers
  • Excellent dog care and handling skills
  • Good judgement
