This role is ideal for NPs who hold multiple state licenses with full or autonomous practice authority, are comfortable working independently, and are willing to conduct periodic synchronous video or phone consultations when clinically appropriate.
You will deliver safe, compliant, and efficient telemedicine care through a combination of asynchronous consultations and occasional synchronous visits, prescribing in line with clinical protocols and collaborating with physicians when required.
What You ll Do:
- Review and assess asynchronous patient consultations using the Zip Health, Levity, and Rocket Rx platforms
- Conduct occasional synchronous video or phone visits when required for clinical clarification, patient safety, or state regulatory compliance
- Prescribe medications safely and appropriately in accordance with clinical protocols, state regulations, and scope-of-practice requirements (initial focus on GLP-1 therapies and ED treatments)
- Monitor and manage patient-reported side effects and escalate concerns when clinically indicated
- Communicate directly with patients in a timely and professional manner via asynchronous messaging and synchronous visits as needed
- Maintain accurate, concise, and compliant clinical documentation in English
- Ensure patient safety by identifying, escalating, and documenting clinical incidents
- Collaborate with physicians on complex cases or where required by state law
- Partner with Customer Support teams to resolve patient inquiries via chat, phone, or video when clinically appropriate
- Maintain active licensure and complete required independent training
- Manage workload efficiently and meet agreed service-level expectations
What You ll Bring:
- Strong clinical judgment and comfort working autonomously within protocols
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and a patient-safety-first mindset
- Flexible and pragmatic approach suited to a fast-paced startup environment
- Strong computer literacy and comfort with digital workflows and EMRs
- National NP certification (AANP or ANCC)
- Minimum 3 years of active clinical practice
- Experience with remote or asynchronous prescribing
- Comfort conducting video or phone-based patient visits when needed
- Experience working in multidisciplinary clinical teams
- Willingness to obtain additional state licenses as needed
- Multiple active state licenses, particularly in states permitting full or autonomous practice authority
- Experience managing obesity and prescribing GLP-1 medications
- Experience in high-volume telemedicine or virtual-first care environments
- Familiarity with digital health platforms and customer support tools (e.g., Zendesk)
- Background in private practice or direct-to-consumer healthcare
- Experience prescribing compounded medications
This is a 1099 independent contractor role. Nurse Practitioners are responsible for their own taxes, benefits, and malpractice coverage unless otherwise specified. Practice is subject to state scope-of-practice laws. While the role is primarily asynchronous, occasional synchronous (video or phone) visits may be required based on clinical need or state requirements.
