Job Title / Details

Starting Hourly Pay: US $43.09 with multiple pay increases over first years of service.

Medical coverage begins the month following start date.

Dental, vision and basic life‑insurance premiums are free after eligibility period (dependent on union representation).

Benefits package includes vacation, sick, holiday and personal leave.

OPERS retirement: employee contributes 10 % of salary; employer contributes 14 %.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Supervise direct‑care nursing staff: complete & sign performance evaluations, handle disciplinary issues, provide counseling, assign & monitor work, recruit, interview & recommend applicants for hire, train & orient new employees, develop & deliver in‑service training; assist in planning, directing and evaluating all nursing care services; establish & implement nursing care programs; review & update programs; serve as liaison with other units to coordinate services;

    direct record keeping and reporting procedures; coordinate nursing services with other resident services; conduct or attend health‑care meetings; lead quality‑assurance functions; requisition medical supplies or equipment; communicate with residents’ families, physicians and specialists; investigate care/abuse complaints.
  • Coordinate scheduling, assessments, planning, evaluation and delivery of all nursing care with appropriate health‑care providers; develop, schedule, conduct and monitor in‑service training; attend meetings (e.g., Utilization Review & Interdisciplinary Team Meetings); attend workshops & seminars; write & review reports; coordinate staffing schedules; approve or disapprove leave requests in absence of staffing coordinator (e.g., conduct pick‑a‑post, manage overtime, mandate overtime for staffing needs).
  • Provide direct professional nursing care to patients; administer emergency care & first aid; conduct nursing rounds; assess patients & administer medications during absence of nursing staff.
Qualifications
  • Current licensure as registered professional nurse in state of Ohio.
  • 24 months experience as registered nurse.
  • 1 course or 3 months experience in counseling.
  • 1 course or 3 months experience in interviewing.
  • 3 courses or 9 months experience in public relations.
  • 3 courses or 9 months experience in employee training & development.
  • 6 courses or 18 months experience in management.
  • – Or 6 months experience as Nurse 2, 65513.
  • – Or equivalent minimum class qualifications for employment as noted above, which may substitute for the experience required (but not for mandated licensure).
