Registered Nurse, RN - Med/Surg (Part-Time Day Shift) (Healthcare)

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing and coordinating nursing care through nursing processes, ensuring optimal health for patients, families, and communities. The RN utilizes professional judgment, guided by nursing principles based on biological, physical, and psychosocial sciences.

Responsibilities
  • Compile comprehensive nursing assessment within the initial shift, covering biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self‑care, and educational needs, and develop discharge planning.
  • Create and implement individualized nursing care plans based on identified diagnoses and therapeutic goals, applying systematic problem‑solving and evaluating outcomes at least daily.
  • Introduce yourself to patients and families, orient them to the unit, involve them in care decisions, and provide teaching tailored to their level of understanding.
  • Administer medications safely, including IV therapy, and provide accurate shift reports with pertinent patient information.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to monitor patient outcomes, communicate changes, and provide prompt, accurate data throughout all phases of care.
  • Document observations, responses to therapy, and completion of orders; prioritize work and adapt as situations warrant.
  • Demonstrate competency in basic nursing practices, following the organization’s policies, procedures, and CCOCs philosophy.
  • Delegate care appropriately, lead when necessary, and provide orientation, training, and supervision to staff.
  • Participate in hourly patient rounding and ongoing quality evaluation of nursing care.
  • Complete any other duties assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
  • Valid RN license in the State of Ohio.
  • Current BLS certification (within 3 months of hire).
  • ACLS certification (within 1 year of hire).
  • Three to five years of clinical nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
