The RoleAs a Business Director – Social Commerce (Germany), you will lead GoSpooky’s commercial expansion into the German market and help establish us as a leading social commerce partner for brands in DACH. This is a founding commercial role where you’ll build the German client portfolio from the ground up, identify opportunities in the rapidly growing social commerce landscape, and bring brands into the world of Tik Tok Shop, creator‑driven commerce, and live social shopping.
You’ll be the face of GoSpooky in Germany, building strong relationships with brands and platform partners while translating market opportunities into sustainable client partnerships. This role reports directly to Tim (Founder) and works closely with our Social Commerce Lead, the commercial team, and cross‑functional teams in our Amsterdam HQ to deliver impactful social commerce programs.
Initially, this role is an individual‑contributor position with strong ownership, with the opportunity to help shape and grow the German team as the market scales.
Please note that this is a Hybrid role based in Germany with regular visits to Amsterdam HQ, based in Amsterdam and travelling also possible.
What you’ll do- Build and own the German sales pipeline end‑to‑end, identifying, pitching, and closing brands for social commerce partnerships
- Establish and nurture strong platform relationships, especially with Tik Tok’s DACH team and other relevant social commerce partners
- Lead GoSpooky’s commercial market entry in Germany, shaping the go‑to‑market strategy and positioning the agency locally
- Identify and qualify high‑potential DTC and mid‑market brands, ensuring strong commercial fit and successful long‑term partnerships
- Collaborate with teams in Amsterdam across strategy, operations, paid social, and creative to deliver best‑in‑class social commerce programs
- Contribute to the development of the German team, providing input on hiring and shaping the local structure as the market grows
- Provide market insights and strategic input to help evolve GoSpooky’s social commerce playbooks across Europe
- 5‑8+ years of experience in e‑commerce, social commerce, digital marketing, or marketplace/platform sales
- A proven business development track record, ideally building a pipeline and closing deals in the German market
- Strong understanding of social commerce ecosystems, including Tik Tok Shop, creator partnerships, affiliate commerce, or DTC marketplaces
- Experience managing senior stakeholders and platform partnerships (e.g., Tik Tok, Meta, or other commerce platforms)
- An entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable building new initiatives from scratch and thriving in ambiguous, early‑stage environments.
- Native German language skills and fluent English
- A results‑driven commercial mindset, with familiarity with performance metrics such as GMV, ROAS, and conversion rates
