Associate Director, Reputation Management (Global) plays a critical role in supporting The Nature Conservancy’s reputational risk management and crisis preparedness efforts. Reporting to the Director of Global Media Relations and Reputation, this position contributes to the development and implementation of strategic communications plans, provides counsel on sensitive issues, and manages writing, editing and project management work related to crisis communications preparedness and response.
The position plays a key role in helping the team navigate sensitive issues and maintain continuity during a time of global political and economic volatility.
Sitting in TNC’s Marketing and Communications division and working alongside colleagues from the Global Media Relations and Reputation team and regional media relations experts based in the U.S., Europe, Africa, Latin America, and Asia, the Associate Director, Reputation Management (Global) will help advance TNC’s reputation strategy and maintain credibility and trust with reporters at top-tier media outlets, high-value donors, policy decision makers, staff, and corporate partners.

The successful candidate will thrive in a collaborative, cross‑functional environment, working across globally dispersed teams to provide hands‑on direction and implementation of sensitive communications initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of 9 years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience managing staff and teams.
- Experience developing communications, media and engagement strategies and measuring results.
- Experience cultivating and managing client relationships.
- Experience developing and leading complex projects or programs including financial responsibility and measuring results of strategic plans and programs.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing crisis communications strategies and working on sensitive or confidential issues in nonprofit, corporate, or agency settings.
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic counsel and influence decision‑making.
- Familiarity with media relations and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience working outside of the U.S.
- Has worked for a global organization and/or on global issues or crises.
- Multi‑lingual skills appreciated.
The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $99,705-$149,600. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience.
Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
