Assistant Plant Manager

Bowman & Landes Turkeys is a family-owned farm that has been operating since 1948. The company raises approximately 80,000 turkeys annually and cultivates over 2,400 acres of corn, soybeans, and wheat. Bowman & Landes is committed to sustainable farming practices and quality production.

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Assistant Plant Manager to support the daily operations of our USDA inspected further processing facility. This vital role involves assisting in overseeing production processes, ensuring quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize plant efficiency and safety.

• Collaborate with the Plant Manager to coordinate production schedules and ensure timely delivery of products
• Assist in managing daily plant operations, including production planning, staffing, and resource allocation
• Support implementation of lean manufacturing principles and process improvements to enhance efficiency
• Monitor manufacturing activities using our in house custom and constantly evolving software.
• Ensure adherence to quality control standards and safety protocols across all operational areas
• Contribute to ongoing continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing waste and increasing productivity.

• Multiple years experience in production management within a meat/poultry manufacturing or processing environment
• Familiarity with production software.
• Strong understanding of supply chain management, logistics, and manufacturing processes
• Mechanical knowledge relevant to plant equipment and process troubleshooting
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and process improvement strategies
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Ability to analyze data related to operations, quality control, and supply chain metrics.
• Bachelors degree in Meat Science is preferred but not required
