Eddie Kane Steel Products has been a family owned and operated business providing exceptional service in the steel industry for over 26 years. The company motto has always been to "Treat others as you would have them treat you" and we are in search of a full time "on-site" Production Lead.
What You’ll Do:- Act as a working lead, stepping in to support production tasks as needed to maintain scheduled assembly production requirements.
- Assist in reviewing production demands (orders) and support the Production Supervisor in scheduling workstations to meet deadlines.
- Carry out delegated assignments from the Production Supervisor for work centers daily and across shifts.
- Ensure workstations are prepared with necessary materials and documentation for timely and continuous production.
- Coordinate with the Production Supervisor to monitor raw material supplies and report shortages or issues.
- Assist in evaluating non‑steel material needs (e.g., welding supplies, hardware) and ensure availability.
- Monitor and inspect the progress of workers’ assignments, reporting observations to the Production Supervisor.
- Support production workers in performing inspections of quality control standards and order requirements.
- Assist in documenting parts inspected and materials consumed, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Report equipment malfunctions to the Production Supervisor and assist with minor repairs as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints and job specifications to support production tasks.
- Help prepare work centers for the following shift.
- Run all workstations: threader, welding, saw, Galvanizing kettle.
- Serve as backup for production positions during breaks, call‑offs, or as required.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Production Supervisor.
- Work in lean manufacturing projects as needed
- Be fully trained on all work centers.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Solid interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
- Proficiency in welding tasks.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required; associate degree or technical training preferred.
- Prior manufacturing experience helpful.
- 2 – 3 years of welding experience required.
- Previous leadership or team lead experience is a plus.
- A hands‑on approach with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.

Eddie Kane Steel’s flagship processing facility in Ohio (180,000 square‑foot warehouse and production plant) has a crane capacity up to 100 tons and has full rail access. The North Carolina and California facilities are also fully served by rail.
