As an Assembly Operator, you will be responsible for assembling a wide range of electrical fastening products and components and ensuring parts are assembled in accordance with work instructions and blueprints/drawings. You will also conduct regular, scheduled quality checks to meet nVent's standards.
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:- Work individually or as part of a team to assemble, fill, kit, prepare, label, and/or package an entire product or component of a product according to Work Instructions.
- Complete work based on specifications, drawings, job routings, and/or Work Instructions.
- Select and move production materials as required.
- Maintain equipment and materials necessary to complete the operation.
- Meet established safety, quality, and performance standards to ensure production schedules are met.
- Record accurate information on Manufacturing Order and perform transactions necessary to maintain accurate records and inventory balances.
- Comply with all applicable safety procedures, quality specifications, and 5S Standards. Report adverse conditions, non‑conforming products/procedures, and 5S violations to the department leader in accordance with escalation procedure.
- Adhere to department 5S standards daily. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Notify team leader or other appropriate resource when problems arise concerning safety, quality, equipment, operations, materials, inventory, documentation, etc.
- Demonstrate flexibility by performing rotational assignments as needed. Participate actively as a team member through continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs.
- High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
- Knowledge in use of scales, preferred.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, preferred.
- Experience following work instructions or reading blueprints, preferred.
- Experience in assembling mechanical parts into a finished product, preferred.
- Experience in using hand and power tools, preferred.
- Prior experience working in a light industrial facility, preferred.
