Performs production work according to customer requirements including welding and basic assembly operations in a Lean Six Sigma environment. Maintain weld standards & fabrication processes within the department to meet budgets, schedules and quality standards.
Complex Custom Packages, Heat Exchangers and Vessels- Performs all operations in the manufacture of custom packages, heat exchangers and vessels to required specifications and budgets.
- Assembles and welds sub‑assembly parts
- Welds internal and external parts
- Assembles and welds water boxes
- Sub arc tube sheets
- Welds tube to tubesheet
- Installs package components
- Assembles weld and installs system piping
- Assist in training less experienced employees
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities- Pipe welding (ability to qualify in a 6G test for MIG, Pulse and TIG)
- Fabrication skills (cutting and fitting)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- May be required to work extended hours which may include weekends and holidays.
- Ability to function well in a high‑paced and at times stressful environment.
- Sufficient hand, arm and finger dexterity to operate tools and/or machinery.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred but not required.
- Certified Vocational Degrees Preferred.
- Minimum Experience:
3+ years experience in lieu of vocational degree/certificate in structural/pipe welding. - Basic math skills
- Basic blueprint reading
- Basic fabrication skills
- Comprehension of safety rules
- Sit, stand, reach, walk for periods of time on concrete surface.
- Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs.
- Sufficient hand, arm and finger dexterity to operate tools and or machinery.
The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $24 - $32 per hour. GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States.
The pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for the position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job‑related reasons. You may be eligible for additional rewards, such as discretionary bonus (based on eligibility) and/or equity awards.
