Occupation type: Recognized training occupation
Type of training: Dual training in industry, regulated by the training ordinance
Duration of training: 3.5 years (may be shortened to 3 years)
Working hours: 36 working hours per week
Learning locations: Training company and vocational school (dual training)
We are the Heitkamp & Thumann Group: a family-owned company from Germany with production sites in Europe, North America and Asia. We develop and produce first-class precision-molded components from metal and plastic ourselves.
For example:
Cups for well-tried household batteries and battery packaging for state-of-the-art electric vehicles. From the very beginning, we support you in developing your talent. During your apprenticeship or internship, you will actively participate in the day-to-day business, take on responsible tasks and be supervised by experienced trainers and colleagues.
As a mechatronics technician...
you build complex mechatronic systems, e.g. robots for industrial production, from mechanical, electrical and electronic components.
You manufacture the individual components and assemble them into systems and plants.
You commission the finished systems, program them or install the associated software.
In doing so, you follow circuit diagrams and design drawings and carefully test the systems before handing them over to the customer.
You also maintain and repair mechatronic systems.
Interest in technology, electrical engineering and natural sciences
Dexterity and good hand-eye coordination (e.g. when assembling circuit relays,
when replacing wearing parts)
Diligence (e.g. when analyzing and correcting malfunctions)
Technical understanding and manual dexterity (e.g., when assembling equipment
and machines from mechanical and electronic parts)
Flexibility (e.g. adapting to changing work locations and conditions during assembly operations
fluent German language skills

What do you earn during your training?
Training allowance per month:
1st year of training: 1.087,64 €
2nd year of training: 1.141,78 €
3rd year of training: 1.222,24 €
4th year of training: 1.327,91 €
