Position Overview
This is a 2nd Shift Position.
The incumbent provides technical assistance to Production and Maintenance in resolving day-to-day production problems and provides technical knowledge and assistance to Engineering for development projects involving new or modified equipment and processes.
Qualifications and ExperienceThe incumbent will preferably possess a 2-year degree in a relevant field. Experience in production processes, products and process capabilities is highly preferred. Above-average technical skills and up-to-date basic knowledge of all plant processes, including understanding of geometric tolerances, are required to assure customer specifications are met.
Strong technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to work either as part of a team or independently are essential. Good verbal and written communication skills are required to work effectively with employees at all levels within the plant, outside vendors and contractors. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and knowledge of plant security and confidentiality policies when dealing with outside suppliers are also required.
ProcessTechnician Profile
The Process Technician is a member of the production unit who provides process and equipment troubleshooting and gathers pertinent information for Production, Engineering, Maintenance and Quality by continuously evaluating the process equipment and recommending changes to improve safety, quality and value.
Responsibilities- Provide technical assistance to Production in resolving day-to-day production problems involving equipment to maximize efficiency, productivity, and reduce downtime.
- Investigate process development problems, propose solutions, gather input, and implement approved solutions to support continuous improvement goals.
- Write job orders to correct malfunctions or improve processes, both short- and long-term, to take ownership of improvement opportunities.
- Support training activities and provide training on new or modified equipment to ensure a qualified workforce.
- Work with Engineering to determine new products and equipment to be tested, help establish evaluation parameters, and assist in testing to ensure comprehensive assessment before mass production.
- Order spare parts and supplies as necessary, determine adequate stock levels, and manage inventory to maintain parts and supplies in specific areas.
- Specify, design or order production tooling or related items, and assist in determining standards for key process variables to maintain quality and productivity targets.
- Participate in all blueprint reviews in specified areas to ensure production readiness of equipment.
- Work off hours as needed to support the line; perform other tasks as required to support team and business tasks.
- Monitor process KPIs (safety, yield, NPR) and conduct process preventative maintenance.
- Attend daily update meetings for production and scheduling.
- Lead process improvement projects related to KPIs and customer requirements.
